A diagram linking reactant and product orbitals by a <symmetry> conserved along a stipulated reaction path. Orbitals of the same <symmetry> avoid crossing in a generic one-parameter problem; orbitals of different <symmetry> can cross. Correlation constrains connectivity, not quantitative barrier heights.
