A <cataclysmic variable> whose persistent luminous disk resembles a <dwarf nova> in outburst. A sufficiently high transfer rate can keep its <accretion disk> on the hot stable branch of the <hydrogen-ionization disk instability>, avoiding ordinary dwarf-nova cycles.
