The <nuclear envelope> is the double-membrane boundary around a <cell nucleus>. Regulated passage connects nuclear processes to the surrounding <cytoplasm>: <transcription> produces <RNA> in the <cell nucleus>, while exported <messenger RNA> can undergo <biological translation> on <ribosomes> outside it.
