{wiki}
For an <event> of <probability> $0<p<1$, its odds in favor are $o=p/(1-p)$. They compare the <probability> of the <event> with that of its <complement>. Conversely $p=o/(1+o)$. For example, <probability> $1/4$ gives <odds> $1/3$, or one to three in favor. The same transformation applies to a <conditional probability>; an <odds ratio> compares these transformed <probabilities> in two groups, while a <risk ratio> compares the <probabilities> themselves.
