Page fault rate
= Page fault rate
{title2=$p$}
For a specified interval of <memory references>, the number causing a <page fault> divided by the total number of <memory references>. In the nonresident-only toy model in <memory thrashing>, this equals the miss fraction used as <probability> $p$ in the <expected value> calculation. Startup and later intervals can have very different <page fault rates>.
