<PALS1> is a scaffold <protein> in the Crumbs-associated polarity complex. It links membrane-associated polarity components with partners including <PATJ>, helping organize apical-junctional architecture in <epithelial cells>. As a scaffold, its influence depends on which partners are present and where the complex assembles.
