Partial atomic charge
= Partial atomic charge
A partial atomic charge assigns an <electric charge> to a <chemical atom> by partitioning the actual <electron density>. The result depends on the partitioning convention and need not be an integer. It differs from <formal charge>, which divides bonding <Electrons> equally in a specified <Lewis structure>.
