For the <normal operator> $T$, the <adjoint operator> identity and $T^*T=TT^*$ give
$$
\|Tv\|^2=\langle v,T^*Tv\rangle
=\langle v,TT^*v\rangle
=\|T^*v\|^2.
$$
For the last equality, $\langle TT^*v,v\rangle=\langle T^*v,T^*v\rangle$ and <complex conjugation> allow reversal of the two arguments. Taking the nonnegative square roots proves
$$
\boxed{\|Tv\|=\|T^*v\|\quad(v\in V)}.
$$
In particular the two <kernels> coincide.
