For a continuous nonnegative event time with <hazard function> $h$, the <cumulative hazard function> is
$$
\boxed{H(t)=\int_0^t h(s)\,ds,\qquad H(0)=0.}
$$
Its derivative is the instantaneous hazard wherever the derivative exists.
