Use <Newton's second law>, $F=ma$. <Acceleration> has <physical dimension> $LT^{-2}$, so multiplying by <mass> gives \b[the dimension of force]

$$
The bracket notation records a <physical dimension>, rather than the numerical value or the choice of units.
