For $N$ particles, the <ideal gas> equation of state is
$$
\boxed{pV=Nk_BT}.
$$
The <internal energy of an ideal gas> depends only on temperature and obeys
$$
dE=C_V\,dT.
$$
For constant heat capacity and a convenient choice of energy zero,
$$
\boxed{E=C_VT}.
$$
