Interpreting $f$ as the <probability density function> of the <random variable>, for $\alpha\leq\beta$ one has
$$
\boxed{P(\alpha\leq X\leq\beta)=\int_\alpha^\beta f(x)\,dx.}
$$
A single point has zero <probability>, so including or excluding either endpoint does not change this result.
