At the <terminal velocity>, the acceleration in <8/iii> vanishes. Thus
$$
\boxed{v_{\mathrm t}=\frac{mgR\sin\phi}{B^2s^2\cos^2\phi}.}
$$
For $0<\phi<\pi/2$ and nonzero $B$, the magnetic drag increases linearly with speed and this terminal state is stable. Horizontal rails have no gravitational drive. Vertical rails have no linked vertical <magnetic flux> change, so the model gives free fall rather than a finite <terminal velocity>.
