A sequence is <Cauchy sequence>[Cauchy] if
$$
\boxed{\forall\varepsilon>0\ \exists N\ \forall m,n\ge N:\ d(x_m,x_n)<\varepsilon.}
$$
The comparison is between sufficiently late terms, without presupposing a limiting point in the space.
