For a scalar-valued function, the <gradient> is the column <vector>
$$
\boxed{\nabla f(x)=(\partial_1f(x),\ldots,\partial_nf(x))^T.}
$$
When $f$ is differentiable, its <total derivative> is the <linear functional>
$$
\boxed{Df(x)h=\nabla f(x)\cdot h.}
$$
Thus the Jacobian is the transpose of the <gradient> in standard Euclidean coordinates.
