Expand the product and use (d) together with its <transpose>:
$$
MM^\top=(A+B)(A^\top+B^\top)
=AA^\top+AB^\top+BA^\top+BB^\top
=\boxed{AA^\top+BB^\top}.
$$
Indeed $AB^\top=0$ and $BA^\top=(AB^\top)^\top=0$.
