A relation between <wave phases> that lets contributions from successive interaction regions add coherently. In <Cherenkov radiation>, the condition along the <particle> trajectory is $\omega=\mathbf k\cdot\mathbf v$, relating <angular frequency>, <wave vector> and particle <velocity>.
