An $\mathrm{R_3PO}$ compound with approximately tetrahedral <phosphorus>. Its short, strongly polar P–O bond can be described using ionic contributions and <oxygen> lone-pair donation into P–R antibonding orbitals, without requiring large <phosphorus> 3d participation.
