= Photonuclear reaction
A nuclear reaction initiated by absorption or scattering of a <photon>. Such channels may contribute to attenuation at photon energies above their relevant nuclear thresholds; they are distinct from atomic <photoelectric absorption> and electron–positron <pair production>.
