= Plasmid insert

A <plasmid insert> is the <DNA> fragment added to a carrier <plasmid> during construction. In the <plasmid feature map>, its stipulated boundaries are 1000 and 2500, giving 1500 <base pairs>. The label identifies a construction role; it does not establish <gene expression> or <functional complementation>.
