Positive zero of the digamma function
= Positive zero of the digamma function
The digamma function is strictly increasing on the positive real axis, while
$$
\psi(1)=-\gamma<0,
\qquad
\psi(2)=1-\gamma>0.
$$
It therefore has exactly one positive zero, and that zero lies in $(1,2)$.
