A radiative correction is a quantum correction beyond the classical or tree approximation, represented in <perturbative quantum field theory> by <Feynman diagrams> of positive <loop order>. Such corrections can alter a <scalar potential> and its derivatives; symmetries and <renormalization> constrain which changes are allowed.
