Rayleigh-Bénard convection is buoyancy-driven flow caused by heating a fluid from below. In an infinite-Prandtl-number reduction, velocity is determined instantaneously by a forced <Stokes operator>[Stokes equation], while temperature satisfies an advection-diffusion equation.
