Rapid envelope growth after cooling and envelope self-gravity allow gas capture to accelerate. It requires an available disk gas supply; eventually disk transport, gap formation or <protoplanetary disk dispersal> can limit growth. It differs from solid-body <runaway planetesimal growth>.
