For a pattern of winding number $w$,
$$
\sigma_\omega(P(K))=\sigma_\omega(P(U))+\sigma_{\omega^w}(K)
$$
whenever the relevant <Levine-Tristram signature>[signatures] are defined by nonsingular forms. The usual averaged convention extends the identity through roots.
