The solar wind is the outward plasma flow from the Sun, carrying an interplanetary <magnetic field>. Its pressure and field compress intrinsic planetary <magnetospheres>, form magnetotails, and can drive an <induced magnetosphere> around a planet with no appreciable intrinsic field.
