Primary abstract and Figure 1: argon atmosphere or ethanolic fixation/staining stabilized RNA during the tested microdissection period, up to 90 minutes. Figure 1 compares RNA integrity measurements at multiple times; Figure 2 shows selected human-colon ganglia and neurons before/after collection. Additional precise Figure 1 caption locator: RNA extracted from section scrapes on a slide was assessed at different times after staining; experiments were repeated at least three times and quality was evaluated on an Agilent Bioanalyzer with the RIN algorithm.
