The approximately constant <strain> rate in secondary <material creep> at specified <stress>, <temperature> and material state. A lifetime estimate $t\simeq\varepsilon_f/\dot\varepsilon$ assumes that rate remains representative; evolving area, damage and tertiary <material creep> can shorten it.
