Stellar gravity mode
= Stellar gravity mode
= Stellar g-mode
{synonym}
A stellar gravity mode is a nonradial <stellar oscillation> restored by <buoyancy> in stable stratification. In the local interior approximation it propagates where $\omega^2<N^2,S_\ell^2$. Such modes are distinct from <stellar acoustic modes> and do not have a radial $\ell=0$ gravity-wave branch.
