= Subgroup distortion

For a finitely generated subgroup $H\leq G$, subgroup distortion compares the intrinsic word length $|h|_H$ with the ambient word length $|h|_G$. The subgroup is undistorted exactly when its inclusion is a <quasi-isometric embedding>.
