A complex momentum-dependent pairing amplitude. Its crystal-symmetry transformation, nodes and relative signs distinguish candidate superconducting states. Magnitude-sensitive spectra alone generally do not establish all relative signs; <phase-sensitive superconducting gap experiments> test them through interference.
