= Surjectivity of independent linear functionals

If $q_1,\ldots,q_n\in V^*$ are linearly independent, then
$$
x\longmapsto(q_1(x),\ldots,q_n(x))
$$
maps $V$ onto $F^n$. Otherwise a nonzero functional annihilating its proper image would give a nontrivial linear relation among the $q_j$.
