For <water> depth $h$ and suspended <mass> <concentration> $c$, the conservative balance $(hc)_t+(huc)_x=\rho_s(v_E-v_D)$ reduces using <water> continuity to $h(c_t+uc_x)=\rho_s(v_E-v_D)$.
