Telegraph relay
= Telegraph relay
A telegraph relay uses a small control <electric current> to switch a separate local <electrical circuit>. The recording mechanism's <energy> can therefore come from its own <battery>, rather than from the weak received <signal>. A sensitive trigger and a powerful readout serve different functions.
