The 1972 institutional reprint preserves the lecture delivered on 11 December 1970. It discusses agricultural production and population pressure, and rejects a miracle-variety account of the programme. The similarly named PDF currently served at the Nobel site's borlaug-lecture.pdf path is a different 2000 lecture and must not be silently cited as this one.
