A <thermostat> senses <temperature> and adjusts a heating or cooling actuator to approach a reference <temperature>. For precise regulation, sensor placement, thermal delay and feedback stability matter as well as the nominal reference. Thermal shielding can reduce rapid environmental disturbances while feedback corrects slower ones.
