An ideal circular ring whose <mass> lies at a single radius $R$ from its symmetry axis. About that axis, the <moment of inertia> is $\int R^2\,dm=MR^2$. The result assumes negligible radial and axial thickness; it is different from the $MR^2/2$ of a uniform solid <disk>.
