Independent <Statistical fluctuation>[stochastic], approximately fixed-noise and fractional-response contributions add in <variance>. The relative resolution is $A/\sqrt E\oplus B/E\oplus C$. Signal-counting and sampling fluctuations enter $A$; fixed equivalent <energy> <noise> enters $B$; residual response nonuniformity enters $C$. The powers approximate a fitted <energy> range rather than describing every leakage or <Collision pileup>[Pile-up] effect exactly.
