If $\sigma$ is a closed two-form on $X$, then $\omega+\pi^*\sigma$ is a symplectic form on $T^*X$, called a twisted cotangent symplectic form. Nondegeneracy follows from the horizontal-vertical block form of the canonical symplectic form.
