= Vanishing loci of ideal sums and intersections

For ideals $I,J\subseteq k[x_1,\ldots,x_n]$,
$$
V(I+J)=V(I)\cap V(J),
\qquad
V(I\cap J)=V(I)\cup V(J).
$$
The second equality also follows from $V(IJ)=V(I)\cup V(J)$ and
$$
IJ\subseteq I\cap J.
$$
