An approximate linear interpolation of a substitutional <solid solution>'s <lattice parameter> with atomic composition. Converting the inferred <atomic fraction> to <mass fraction> requires molar masses. Ordering, nonideal mixing, <strain> and multiple phases can invalidate a simple two-endpoint interpolation.
