A vector $v$ has weight $\mu\in\mathfrak t^*$ when $h v=\mu(h)v$ for every $h$ in the Cartan subalgebra.
A <Weight (representation theory)> is the eigenvalue functional; a weight vector is a nonzero vector carrying it.
