The weighted projective space is $\operatorname{Proj}k[z_0,\ldots,z_n]$ with $\deg z_i=w_i>0$. Over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero it is the <geometric quotient> of punctured affine space by $\lambda\cdot z_i=\lambda^{w_i}z_i$. For well-formed weights, these weights also grade its <Cox ring>.
