The Abstract, Feature selection, Discussion and Figure 8 describe a learned multi-feature score from RNA electrophoresis traces rather than a single ribosomal-peak ratio. The scale runs from 1 to 10, with larger values assigned to better integrity. The score is not a direct fraction of intact molecules. First-author spelling follows the original byline; no identification with similarly named mathematicians is made.
