Bernard Forest de Bélidor (circa 1691–1739) was a French engineer and a mathematician known for his contributions to the fields of hydraulics and engineering, particularly in the context of water management and water mills. He is best known for his seminal work titled "Architecture Hydraulique" (Hydraulic Architecture), published in several volumes between 1737 and 1739, which is considered one of the early comprehensive treatises on hydraulic engineering.
