Dennis H. Klatt was an influential American speech scientist and engineer known for his pioneering work in the fields of speech synthesis and voice technology. He worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he contributed significantly to the development of computer-generated speech. Klatt developed the "Klatt synthesizer," which was one of the first systems capable of producing understandable and intelligible speech using computer algorithms.
