Transpiration cooling is a process used primarily in aerospace engineering and thermal management systems to dissipate heat from surfaces, particularly in extreme conditions such as high-speed flight or re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. The technique involves the use of a porous material through which a cooling fluid, typically water, is passed.
