Walter Cunningham could refer to several different individuals, but one of the most notable is Walter Cunningham, the American astronaut and naval aviator. Born on March 16, 1932, he was a part of NASA's Apollo program and flew on Apollo 7, the first manned mission in the Apollo program. Apollo 7 launched on October 11, 1968, and was significant for successfully testing the spacecraft necessary for the subsequent Apollo missions, including the historic Apollo 11 moon landing.
