Alan C. Newell was a prominent figure in the fields of psychology, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence. Born in 1927 and passing in 2018, he is best known for his work in cognitive psychology and for co-developing the “Information Processing” theory of human cognition alongside his collaborator Herbert A. Simon.
