Fabiola Gianotti is an Italian particle physicist best known for her work as the spokesperson for the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research). She played a significant role in the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012, a significant milestone in the field of particle physics that confirmed the existence of a fundamental particle vital to the Standard Model of particle physics.
